چکیده
Peach fruit quality is dependent on preharvest treatments and orchard practices. The aim of this study to evaluate the effects potassium silicon fertilization postharvest quality. Two peach cultivars (“Early Bomba” “Plagold 17”) were sprayed with three concentrations (K-Si) at set, stone hardening, physiological maturity stages. applied corresponded control (T0 = 0% K-Si) pulverized distilled water two K-Si (T1 3% T2 4.5% K-Si). blooming harvesting dates, vegetative growth agronomical parameters analyzed over growing seasons (2021–2022). fruits stored 5 °C 95% RH during cold storage periods (2 4 weeks) followed by 2 days room temperatures. weights (FW), color, firmness, soluble solids content (SSC), titratable acidity (TA), pulp ratio (P/S) weight loss (FWL) evaluated. anthocyanins, flavonoids, total phenolics, carotenoids antioxidant capacity (DPPH) determined. Vitamin B5 vitamin C HPLC. ethylene rate chilling injury symptoms (CI) after weeks). Results showed that (3% enhanced FW, SSC, TA, FWL, composition CI. Anthocyanins phenolics increased period under treatments. nectarine cultivar (cv) Early Bomba low sensibility as compared cv Plagold 17.

Quality oriented fruit breeding: Peach [Prunus persica (L.) Batsch]
Promising new tools for peach fruit quality breeding have been revised in this work. These tools included fruit quality evaluation through physical, chemical and sensorial parameters and post-harvest storage evaluation. The development of a feasible method for an early testing of peach selections generated in breeding programs is also well described together with the discussion of the inheritan...
